This Privacy Policy explains how DankScape ("DankScape", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you play the game at dankscape.com. By creating an account or using the game, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We try to collect only what we need to run the game and keep accounts secure:

Account details — your username and email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Gameplay data — the characters you create and their progress, such as levels, items, gold, clan membership, chat messages, and activity within the game.
Technical and security data — your IP address and an approximate country/region derived from it, plus basic browser/device information. We use this to operate the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect accounts.
Payment information — if you buy something, the payment itself is handled by our payment processor (see below). We receive a record that a purchase was made and its status, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
Optional linked accounts — if you choose to sign in with Discord, we receive a Discord account identifier and basic profile information needed to connect your account.

To provide, maintain, and improve the game and your account.
To keep accounts secure and to detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, cheating, and abuse.
To process purchases and deliver the items or benefits you bought.

Cookies

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you logged in and to protect against cross-site request forgery. This cookie is required for the game to function. We also use Google reCAPTCHA on sign-up, sign-in, and password-reset forms to tell humans from bots, which may set its own cookies and process limited technical data under Google's policies.

Third-party services

We share the minimum necessary information with service providers that help us run DankScape:

Payment processing — purchases are processed by PayPal. Your payment is subject to PayPal's own privacy policy.
Bot protection — Google reCAPTCHA, subject to Google's privacy policy.
Discord — only if you choose to link or sign in with Discord, subject to Discord's privacy policy.
Email delivery — to send account emails such as verification and password resets.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising in the game.

Data retention

We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the game. We may retain certain information longer where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or to meet legal obligations. You can request deletion of your account (see below).

Children

DankScape is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
